In a time marked by uncertainty, rising antisemitism, and the everyday pressures facing families, Jewish parents and grandparents are searching for meaningful ways to help children feel secure, confident, and prepared for life’s challenges. On Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m., the Marjorie & Lewis Katz Jewish Community Center will host an engaging evening with Tovah P. Klein, PhD, author and child development expert, for a program titled “Raising Resilience: How to Help Our Children Thrive in Times of Uncertainty.”
Dr. Klein’s talk offers guidance for families navigating both ordinary stress and major life crises. From sibling conflict and divorce to loss, academic struggles, and the challenges of growing up Jewish today, her message is designed to serve as a lifeline for parents and grandparents seeking practical tools and reassurance.
During the program, Dr. Klein will describe five key resources that children develop through strong parent relationships. These resources help children adapt, grow, and thrive rather than falter under pressure. Her presentation will focus on how parents can provide the emotional buffer children need in moments of adversity and uncertainty.
Through this timely and relevant discussion, attendees will learn how to raise children who are confident, caring, and motivated by strengthening connection and equipping them with resilience to meet life’s hurdles.
The evening is especially intended for Jewish parents and grandparents, and complimentary childcare will be available for attendees.
A dessert reception will accompany the program.
Advance registration is required.
