More than 40 exhibitors and vendors will gather at Stockton University’s Campus Center on May 8 for the annual Successful Aging Festival, presented by the Stockton Center on Successful Aging (SCOSA).
The festival’s theme “Serving Up Solutions” will focus on the ability to handle life with education, meaningful relationships and social connections. Stockton students will attend sessions throughout the day to facilitate connections across generations.
One of the festival’s signature sessions this year will focus on intergenerational projects facilitated by SCOSA, including the Lives Well Lived project, The Funny Farm Book Club and the Nutrition Guide.
Admission for the event, which is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is free and parking is available in front of the Campus Center at 101 Vera King Farris Drive in Galloway. Stockton is on NJ Transit bus route 508, which runs from Atlantic City to the Hamilton Mall.
This year’s keynote speaker is James Maguire, a 70-year-old powerlifter and Senior Olympian. Breakout sessions include a showing of the film “Dinner AND a Show!” written, directed and filmed by Shawn Cseh, a community older adult.
The festival will host several sessions, including Volunteering: The Ultimate Mood Booster, Managing Money: A Caregiver’s Guide to Finances, Protecting Yourself in an AI-Powered World, and CareWise AI: Empowering Dementia Caregivers Every Day.
