Fall colors and creativity were on full display when seniors at BERON Jewish Older Adult Services (JOAS) recently gathered to paint pumpkins through Mosaic’s Brushes & Blooms program.

Participants transformed ordinary pumpkins into colorful works of art, using paint and their imaginations to create their own one-of-a-kind designs. The seasonal activity offered seniors an opportunity to express their creativity, work with their hands and enjoy time together in a relaxed, social setting.

The pumpkin-painting session is part of Brushes & Blooms, a Mosaic program that combines art and horticultural therapy to promote creativity, social engagement and emotional well-being among older adults. Programs are available for booking throughout the region. Nonprofit organizations are encouraged to inquire about funding support through Mosaic. For-profit partners are welcome to participate at a program rate. To learn more or to schedule a therapeutic gardening session, please contact office@mosaicgiving.org or (609) 916-6520.
