Coastal Seafood Boil with Crab Legs and Shrimp

Ingredients
- 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 pounds snow crab legs
- 1 pound small red potatoes
- 4 ears corn, cut into thirds
- 1 head of garlic, crushed
- 12 ounces smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 lemons, halved
- 4 tablespoons Old Bay seasoning
- 1 stick butter, melted
- Fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Fill a large stockpot with water and add Old Bay, lemon halves and potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes.
- Add sausage, garlic and corn. Cook 8 minutes.
- Add crab legs and cook 5 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3 minutes.
- Drain and spread onto a serving table or large platter.
- Drizzle with melted butter and garnish with parsley.
Serve with extra lemon wedges and plenty of napkins.
Grilled Bacon-Wrapped Corn on the Cob

Ingredients
- 8 ears corn, husked
- 8 slices bacon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Fresh cracked pepper
Directions
- Preheat grill to medium heat.
- Wrap each ear of corn with one slice of bacon.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar, paprika and pepper.
- Grill for 20-25 minutes, turning frequently until bacon is crisp and corn is tender.
- Serve immediately.

Crispy Fried Chicken
Golden, crunchy and juicy inside, this fried chicken is the star of any Independence Day table.
Ingredients
- 3 pounds chicken thighs or wings
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
Directions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least four hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, combine flour and seasonings.
- Remove chicken from marinade and dredge thoroughly in seasoned flour.
- Heat oil to 350 degrees.
- Fry chicken in batches for 10-15 minutes, depending on piece size, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on a wire rack and sprinkle lightly with salt.
Patriotic Strawberry Blueberry Cheesecake
Fresh strawberries and blueberries give this creamy dessert a festive red-and-white-and-blue appearance that’s perfect for the holiday.
Ingredients
Crust
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
Filling
- 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
- 2 cups sliced strawberries
- 2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
- Whipped cream
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Mix graham cracker crumbs and butter. Press into a 9-inch springform pan.
- Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
- Pour over crust and bake for 55-60 minutes.
- Cool completely, then refrigerate at least four hours.
- Warm preserves slightly and toss with strawberries.
- Spoon strawberries over cheesecake and garnish with blueberries before serving.

- 6 black tea bags
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 cups water
- Lemon slices

Directions
- Bring 4 cups water to a boil.
- Remove from heat and steep tea bags for 10 minutes.
- Remove tea bags and stir in sugar until dissolved.
- Add remaining 4 cups cold water.
- Chill thoroughly.
- Serve over ice with lemon slices and mint.
