The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is reflecting on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, honoring those who lost their lives and recognizing the first responders and military personnel who served in the years that followed:
Twenty-five years have passed since the attacks of September 11, 2001, a day that tested our nation and revealed the depth of its resolve.
We pause today to honor the memory of the nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and aboard United Flight 93, and to extend our deepest condolences to their families, whose grief endures.
We also express our profound gratitude to the first responders who, on that morning and in the years since, have placed themselves in harm’s way in service of others. Their courage remains a model of duty and selflessness.
Likewise, we recognize the members of our Armed Forces, past and present, whose service and sacrifice in the aftermath of that day have safeguarded the freedoms we hold dear.
As we reflect on this solemn anniversary, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office reaffirms its commitment to the principles of service, justice, and community that define us.
We will carry forward the memory of those we lost, and we will not forget.
