Two 20-year-old women were charged with driving under the influence after police said they discovered the pair switching seats in a liquor store parking lot Friday night.
Egg Harbor Township police received a report at about 9:48 p.m. of a vehicle traveling east in the westbound lanes of the Black Horse Pike.
Officer Randy Collins later located the vehicle in the parking lot of Tomar’s Discount Liquors near Lincoln Avenue, where the two occupants were allegedly attempting to switch seats, according to Lt. Mark Mensch.
Police identified the women as Destiny Munyon and Shelby Barnes, both 20. An investigation determined that each woman had operated the vehicle at some point, police said.
Both women were charged with driving under the influence and issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving and other motor vehicle violations.
Munyon also was charged with refusing to submit to a breath test and having an open container in a motor vehicle.
Police said both women were under the legal drinking age and allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
Munyon and Barnes were released to sober adults in accordance with John’s Law.
