More than 1,000 residents gathered Tuesday evening for Egg Harbor Township’s annual National Night Out, an event designed to strengthen relationships between the community and local law enforcement, firefighters and emergency responders.
Families filled Veterans Park to enjoy an evening of free activities, including bounce houses, face painting, games, giveaways and food. Children had the opportunity to meet police officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel while exploring emergency vehicles and learning more about the equipment used to keep the community safe.
The event also featured public safety demonstrations and informational displays from local businesses and community organizations, giving residents the opportunity to connect with the many services and resources available throughout Egg Harbor Township.
National Night Out is held annually in communities across the country to promote neighborhood partnerships, crime prevention and positive engagement between first responders and the residents they serve. The event encourages families to interact with local public safety agencies in a relaxed setting while fostering a stronger sense of community.
The evening drew a large crowd and highlighted the township’s commitment to public safety, community involvement and neighborhood connections through an atmosphere of fun, education and family-friendly entertainment.
