The HOPE Foundation is rallying community support for Atlantic City resident Lana Mutschler, whose 10th-floor condo at Brighton Towers was destroyed in the January 14 fire that left multiple units uninhabitable.
Mutschler, who has lived in Atlantic City since 2001, lost nearly all of her belongings and was forced to vacate her home after it was deemed unsafe by authorities. Repairs to the affected units are expected to take at least six months. Without insurance coverage, she is now relying on friends for temporary housing as she works to rebuild her life.
“Right now, I’m living day by day,” Mutschler said. “I lost almost everything. I’m just trying to find some stability until I can return home.”
While the Red Cross provided immediate short-term assistance following the fire, longer-term needs remain. On February 19, the Atlantic City–based HOPE Foundation presented Mutschler with a $1,000 gift to help offset essential expenses including temporary housing, clothing, toiletries, food and other basic necessities.
“Any contribution — big or small — will make a difference,” she added. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and generosity.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support Mutschler during her displacement. To contribute or learn more, visit:https://gofund.me/194047b57
