On Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, Nashid Seymore, 31, of Atlantic City, NJ, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and fourth-degree aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer before the Honorable Daniel Kurkowski, J.S.C.
The plea calls for a recommended sentence of one year in New Jersey State Prison.
On Jan. 5, 2026, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Indiana and Atlantic Avenues in reference to a male threatening people with a knife. Seymore was located on scene with the knife in his possession and admitted to brandishing the knife during a verbal altercation.
On May 13, 2026, Seymore was involved in a physical altercation with another male on the corner of Tennessee and Atlantic Avenues. While taking Seymore into custody, Seymore headbutted a police officer several times causing bodily injury.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 13, 2026.
