The Grubb at 34th Street & Asbury owners Jon and Cherish Grubb, joined the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce and dignitaries for a ribbon cutting Wednesday, Sept. 10, to officially celebrate the opening of the restaurant.
The eatery, which opened at the end of April, features a variety of foods including pasta, sandwiches, and hot roast beef, with some gluten-free options. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily by friendly staff in a casual dining experience. The Grubbs also offer party trays and cater events.
During the ribbon cutting ceremony, Michele Gillian, Executive Director of the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, thanked the Grubbs for opening their restaurant and noted that they are in a prime location – a hub of activity – and wished them much success.
Cape May County Commissioner Bob Barr presented a proclamation to commemorate the opening of the eatery.
Mayor Jay Gillian led the countdown, and Jon and Cherish cut the ceremonial ribbon with the help of their 2 ½ year old son, Carmen, to the applause of all gathered.
Assemblyman Antwan McClellan, Jon Grubb’s longtime friend, arrived later due to a prior commitment, and welcomed his friend and family to the resort’s business community.
Since March, the Ocean City Chamber has hosted 33 ribbon cutting ceremonies throughout Ocean City and there are more scheduled, signifying continued growth and investment in the downtown, boardwalk and island-wide businesses.
