Still don’t understand what these are for. Are we getting sterilized before leaving the airport and going out into the New Jersey area. And how does it work in less than 10 seconds. My friends who work for the FAA never knew what they were for 😆

Rock n’ Roll & Turkey!

Back in the day at Tony Marts, and all over, it was always the tradition to rock n’
roll on the Wednesday night before and the Friday night after everyone gathered
for Thanksgiving. At Tony Marts it was one of the biggest “ Drink and Drown” Wednesday night parties of the year, and there were always more than 500 people embracing each other and partying on one of the biggest off season nights at rock
n’ roll bars in South Jersey.

Everyone would cut loose and have a great time celebrating the holiday and
and Homecoming.

Nowadays, a lot of people like to get together and cook the night before and
many people still party on that Wednesday night; by the time Friday night
rolls around, however, those who want to have a really good time are tired of watching football & eating leftovers and they want the best rock n’ roll party
they can find.

This year Tony Mart Presents will bring the Billy Walton Band to the warm and
cozy vintage showroom, The Celebrity Theatre, at The Claridge Hotel where it
will be a general admission open house party. $20 buys your first drink and
two rock n’ roll shows entitled “PAINTED BLACK FRIDAY” as The Billy Walton Band continues their tribute to The Rolling Stones that they have been performing for
years as part of “the rock n’ roll on turkey day” weekend tradition.

The doors open at 6pm at The Celebrity Theatre so you can start to mingle and
claim your favorite seat or table in the classic showroom before enjoying both of
two performances when the Billy Walton Band pays tribute to the greatest classic rock n’ roll band still touring the world, The Rolling Stones.

Billy Walton has always been a huge fan of The Stones and he is ecstatic, really
excited to bring us his entire band and Destinee Monroe to this fabulous rock n’
roll show that will feature performances of The Stones earliest major hits,
“Satisfaction” & “ Jumping Jack Flash”, as well as the haunting rock n’ roll driving
dance song after which the show is named, “ Painted Black”.

Highlights during the more than two hours of music will include a riveting performance of “Wild Horses” by Destinee Monroe and The Rolling Stones
critically acclaimed classic “Let It Bleed”, title track from what many consider
to be their greatest album; and “Sympathy For The Devil”, their spellbinding
signature song that is one of the most famous subculture anthems of our times.

Everyone who was at The Mart in the early 70’s remembers that you couldn’t go through a night there without hearing “Brown Sugar” at least three times!

It will be really fun and relaxed, entertaining good times with great views
and superb acoustics as Tony Mart Presents our own Jersey Shore Rock N’ Roll
Guitar Hero, Billy Walton, in a spectacular first class casino showroom.

In the Tony Mart Jersey Shore rock n’ roll tradition, there is no better way to dance
off the turkey!

Major Redevelopment Plans for Wonderland Pier Unveiled

Shore developer Eustace Mita plans to transform the Wonderland Pier property with a new 7-story hotel, a revamped carousel, and a reoriented Ferris wheel, according to a report in The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The project, tentatively named "Icona in Wonderland," would include a 7.5-story hotel with 252 rooms. Mita has shared these plans with City Council members and the Boardwalk Merchants Association.

The Ferris wheel is set to be repositioned in an "east-west" orientation on the north side of the property. Mita plans to invest $1.5 million to restore the carousel and another $1 million to relocate, elevate, and update the Ferris wheel with new lighting.

Citing the lack of new hotels in the area for the past 50 years, Mita said his resort would bring an estimated thousand new visitors to the Boardwalk every three days during the summer season. The plan includes 375 parking spaces but notably excludes a liquor license application.

Mita may not need a zoning change for the development. Instead, he aims to have the site designated as a "redevelopment zone," which would require City Council approval.

Lots of practical issues here… #1. The plot itself isn’t large enough to accommodate all he wants… so will he then buy up the neighboring properties to build? So won’t that also require zoning changes / redevelopment zone designation? The carousel can’t possibly be out in the elements and it takes up to much real estate in the plot. You need a minimum of 30 feet high ( 3 stories) and about 60 feet of floor space. #2. Where will they put 500 cars? ( 2 for each room plus staff) #3. How will they address safety/security issues for the high school? Traffic, etc. #4. Who will pay for all the infrastructure needs for such a project? #5. How much will it cost the city/tax payers to fight his alcohol loophole brew pub? #6. Redevelopment zones typically get tax abatements for up to 30 years. These are all ENORMOUS ISSUES for the city and its taxpayers. Not to mention setting a precedent for redevelopment of the entire boardwalk.

Mita had millions as a business partner and did nothing to make Wonderland better sat on it for a few years but has $130mil to make this monstrosity. Looks hideous.

“Be a hero, report your zeros.”

That’s the motto Dave Robinson, the New Jersey state climatologist, is telling his over 200 volunteer weather observers across the Garden State. It’s important to report, not just when and where it’s raining, but where it hasn’t rained in this dry spell.

When it comes to investing, the way up is a lot easier than the way down. On the way up, low-cost, well-diversified portfolios can help get you to the goal. In most cases, there aren’t a ton of other factors involved in achieving wealth. Retirement (the way down), however, is very different. This is when planning becomes crucial.

I remember my grandfather kept his boat there and going in there. From the late sixties too the early eighties.

My dad played lots of pool there, as did my wife's dad, John McLaughlin. And Jim Earle, recently departed, was a fixture there.

Veterans Day, the annual celebration honoring American veterans, falls on Nov. 11. The holiday, originally called Armistice Day, commemorated the temporary cessation of combat in World War I, which took place on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. After World War II, the holiday was renamed Veterans Day, which, according to the Department of Veterans Affairs, honors all living and deceased American veterans.

Build a new bridge already!!!!

Having patience with your puppy and all of the issues that go along with raising them will pay off in the long run. A very important part of puppy development is recognizing when your dog is going through a fear period.

Took my dream date there, had a great dinner then realized I didn’t have my wallet 😳. They were understanding and I returned the next day somewhat embarrassed.

I worked here in my early 20’s and waited on Leonard Tose who was a very frequent guest 🦅

Today .....years ago
It was on November 5, 1935 that Parker Brothers introduced the board game Monopoly, where all the streets are named after actual streets in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The game was invented by an out-of-work heating contractor from Philadelphia named Charles Darrow. The game that became Monopoly wildly outperformed Parker Brothers’ modest expectations, becoming the most popular game in history. Although they initially rejected Darrow’s offer to sell it to them, the powers that be at Parker Brothers changed their minds after the independently manufactured game began flying off the shelves of a Philadelphia department store, though the company still believed the game was a fad that would soon fade. They began marketing it as Monopoly on this day, Nov. 5, in 1935.

Monopoly sales soon made Darrow so rich that he abandoned the heating trade for a hothouse hobby: growing orchids. According to Hasbro, which acquired Parker Brothers in 1991, more than 275 million Monopoly games — including more than 6 billion green houses and 2.25 billion red hotels — have been sold since 1935. Ocean City is losing its beloved Ferris wheel, but it could have very well been an Observational Roundabout. That was the name given by the inventor of the first attraction we know now as a Ferris wheel, according to historians.

The Borough of Longport was officially established in 1898. The record will show that, other than the building of luxury homes and condos, being one of the wealthiest zip codes in the state of New Jersey, and surviving some devastating storms over the years, not all that much has happened in the 126 years since the town was incorporated.
