Veterans share stories to be preserved

The Veterans History Project, affiliated with the , has been interviewing veterans since 2007, and has collected over 450 oral histories of local veterans.  Their recorded stories are shared with the veterans, the historical society and preserved in the National Archives of the Library of Congress in Washington DC. Each veteran interviewed is presented with a certificate of appreciation from ACHS and awarded a handmade quilt from the Quilts of Valor organization. This group received their quilt at the Four Seasons Veterans Club meeting in Smithville on Nov. 13, 2023.
