Cape May’s iconic Congress Hall is enjoying a summer to remember, earning two national accolades that reinforce its status as one of the Jersey Shore’s premier destinations.
The historic beachfront resort was recently named one of USA TODAY’s 20 Best Historic Hotels & Resorts in America, while its popular Brown Room cocktail bar also received national recognition after being named one of the country’s best hotel bars in USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
The honors celebrate two different aspects of the 210-year-old landmark: its centuries-long legacy as America’s first seaside resort and its continued reputation for exceptional hospitality.
Originally opened in 1816, Congress Hall has welcomed guests for more than two centuries and has hosted four U.S. presidents, including Benjamin Harrison, who used the hotel as his Summer White House.
