There’s something for everyone in Egg Harbor Township, ‘The Heart of Atlantic County’

Real Estate Matters
By Elisa Jo Eagan

When we think of a place to call home, to live, to plant roots and raise a family, many factors come into the equation. We dream, we plan, we search and we research to find our own utopia. The thriving community of Egg Harbor Township, located in “The Heart of Atlantic County,” is the place where I now call home.

Natural Beauty Meets Booming Businesses

EHT offers the beauty and enjoyment of the Great Egg Harbor River along our border, the convenience of the Atlantic City International Airport in our center, our own military bases – the 177th Fighter Wing of the New Jersey Air National Guard, and the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City to protect us, and the William J Hughes FAA Technical Center to employ many of our residents.

We have senior communities – the 55+ Village Grande at Little Mill and English Mill, our own parks and recreation department, community center, award-winning golf courses, youth sports programs, Police Activities League, our own fully paid police force and dedicated volunteer fire departments, places of worship where we gather, plus numerous dedicated businesses and services, and many other features that we enjoy, appreciate and love.

Our desirable public school system provides top-notch education for our children and grandchildren. Generations of successful and well-educated students have gone through our schools. Many now live in the township, giving back to our community and happily sending their children and grandchildren to the same schools they successfully attended and graduated from.

Varied Communities and New Construction

Many new residential neighborhoods have been built in the last few years and are continuing to be built or are now under construction to accommodate the strong demand for housing. Stay tuned because there is more to come. New housing construction is a sign of a healthy real estate market, and housing is the backbone of a community and the economy.

During the pandemic, Egg Harbor Township became the “sweet spot” for many relocating from New York, North Jersey, Pennsylvania and other out-of-state locations, wanting to bring up their families in a place that offers a better life away from the hustle and bustle of crowded cities while continuing their careers by working from home.

Many are relocating to Egg Harbor Township to be by the Shore or closer to family, near Ocean City or their favorite beaches, or work in and around Atlantic City, which keeps many of our citizens employed at the ever-evolving, world-class resort. Its nine casinos offer a wide range of employment opportunities just next door.

New and existing home values throughout Egg Harbor Township have increased by 25 to 35 percent on average from 2020 to present 2024, building even more equity for homeowners. Inventory and supply of existing homes for sale is low and the demand for housing is high – stronger than it has ever been. Buyers want to buy and to own in Egg Harbor Township in all price ranges and neighborhoods. The desire to own, enjoy and experience living in the Heart of Atlantic County in Egg Harbor Township is alive and well.

Rich History and a Bright Future

Since 1710, Egg Harbor Township has been built by and made up of many talented, caring citizens and dedicated business owners, who have given of themselves to contribute to the community, creating a wonderful place for generations of residents and their families to live, thrive and enjoy.

Until Next Time…. Remember to bloom where you are planted in the Heart of Atlantic County here in Egg Harbor Township, and in all of the Shore Local area!
