The 71st Annual Night in Venice boat parade set sail along the Ocean City bayside last Saturday. Thousands of spectators watched with excitement from their homes, along side streets, and at the Bayside Center, as nearly a hundred themed boats paraded along the bay and the lagoons.
This years Grand Marshals made their star-studded appearances to the delight of onlookers. Leading the parade was actor Randy Quaid, star of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, who brought a fun old-fashion family Christmas to the island resort. Phillies legend John Kruk was also in attendance for the annual event.
This year’s Night in Venice theme, “Stars, Stripes and Christmas Lights,” brought plenty of fanfare. Local dignitaries, including Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian, along with members of City Council, Cape May County Commissioners, and the reigning Miss Ocean City queens were in attendance.
