Seniors nurture new growth in horticultural therapy

Residents at Seashore Gardens Living Center (SGLC) enjoyed a hands-on horticultural therapy session in September, creating moss balls and growing new plants from spider plant cuttings. Led by instructor Christina, the activity fostered relaxation and social connection as part of the Golden Sunflowers program.

The benefits of therapeutic horticulture are numerous and include social interaction, improving motor skills, elevating mood, reducing agitation, and improving self-esteem. The Golden Sunflowers program is funded by Seashore Gardens Foundation.
