On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Khalid Haraksin, 22, from Pleasantville, NJ, was sentenced on second-degree Eluding, third-degree Resisting Arrest, fourth-degree Resisting Arrest, and third-degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft, by the Honorable Donna M. Taylor, J.S.C, to a term of five years in New Jersey State Prison. The charges stem from four separate indictments to which the defendant pleaded guilty.
On November 3, 2023, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the motor vehicle stop, Haraksin put his car in drive and took off onto the Atlantic City Expressway, endangering the patrol officer. The defendant pleaded guilty to second-degree Eluding and was sentenced to a term of five years.
On August 9, 2024, detectives from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office were executing a search warrant at 15 West Pleasant Avenue, in Pleasantville. When law enforcement arrived at the residence, Khalid Haraksin ran from police, despite multiple commands to stop. The defendant pleaded guilty to third-degree Resisting Arrest and was sentenced to a term of five years concurrent.
On September 23, 2025, officers of the Pleasantville Police Department attempted to detain Haraksin, who was operating an e-bike. Upon seeing the patrol vehicle, he fled, abandoned the e-bike, and ran through several backyards. Police conducted a yard-to-yard search and located him hiding in a backyard in Pleasantville. The defendant pleaded guilty to fourth-degree Resisting Arrest and was sentenced to a term of 18 months concurrent.
During and between October 2021 and February of 2024 Haraksin conspired with others to fraudulently deposit funds belonging to other persons and businesses in Atlantic County. This case was investigated by the Atlantic City Police Department. The defendant pleaded guilty to third-degree Conspiracy to Commit Theft and was sentenced to a term of five years concurrent.
The defendant has been detained in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since September 23, 2025.
