Ocean Casino Resort celebrated World Ocean Day on Sunday with a series of activities focused on ocean appreciation, environmental awareness and community engagement.
The event welcomed guests throughout the morning and featured educational exhibits, local vendors, giveaways and an appearance by professional surfer and content creator Ben Gravy.
The first 500 guests received complimentary gifts, including Ocean Cotton travel pouches and The Original MakeUp Eraser PRO Classics products.
Attendees also had the opportunity to meet Ben Gravy, who spent time interacting with guests and sharing his passion for surfing and the ocean.
Additional attractions included a pop-up from The Gilded Oyster, featuring hand-collected and hand-painted oyster shell keepsakes created by local artist Erica C. Guests were also treated to complimentary smoothie samples from Blend, with flavors including Ocean, Pitaya and Acai Berry.
As part of the celebration, Ocean Casino Resort recognized two local organizations dedicated to preserving South Jersey’s natural and cultural resources. The resort presented $1,000 donations to the Marine Mammal Stranding Center and the Absecon Lighthouse.
Representatives from both organizations were on hand throughout the event to engage with visitors and share information about their missions and community impact.
The Marine Mammal Stranding Center serves as New Jersey’s only federally authorized marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation facility, responding to stranded and injured marine wildlife along the state’s coastline. Meanwhile, Absecon Lighthouse remains one of Atlantic City’s most recognizable historic landmarks and a key part of the city’s heritage.
Ocean Casino Resort officials said the event reflected the property’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and support for organizations that help protect the region’s coastal ecosystems and historic resources.
World Ocean Day is observed annually to raise awareness about the importance of healthy oceans and encourage conservation efforts around the globe.
