Waterpark team members reduced environmental triggers for those with autism and other special needs by creating an environment with no music nor other loud noises, no flashing or bright lights and special “Sensory Rooms” for relaxation and play activities. Some 300 children, parents and caregivers turned out to enjoy the experience. This first event was so successful that Showboat plans to create more “Sensory Sundays” in the future!

I wish this was better advertised. I would have loved to bring my boys. We went on a regular day and my youngest had a hard time with the crowd.
