Tune In, Turn On
One good thing that’s exciting for music lovers about summertime here at the Jersey Shore; there’s always a few “pop-up” events that get announced usually right after Memorial Day. Among them is the just-announced inaugural Re-Wind 69 Festival, coming to Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City for three days/nights Aug. 14-16.
The lineup features tribute groups performing the music of many of the legendary artists that performed at perhaps the most famous music festival to ever take place in the United States – Woodstock.
Day 1 (Aug.14) features sets by Steal Your Face (Grateful Dead tribute), John McNutt Band (Creedence Clearwater Revival), Everyday People (Sly & the Family Stone) and a Richie Havens tribute performed by Pamela Renee Smith.
Day 2 (Aug.15) sees sets by Wooden Ships (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane), Just Like Janis (Janis Joplin) and Who’s Next (The Who).
Day 3 (Aug.16) features performances by Faces of Rod (Jeff Beck Band with Rod Stewart), Carlos Amigos (Santana) and Kiss The Sky (Jimi Hendrix).
“Re-Creation Concerts is the heartbeat of every legacy we bring back to life,” reads the press materials on the Re-Wind 69 website. “It’s where music is rebuilt from memory, emotion and truth – piece by piece, artist by artist – until it feels like the legends are standing in the room again.
“This is the workshop of nostalgia, the place where stories become sound and sound becomes connection. Every band we construct is crafted with intention, reverence and fire, honoring the icons who shaped generations while giving today’s audiences a chance to feel that magic for themselves. Re-Creation Concerts isn’t just a company – it’s the engine of remembrance, the keeper of musical history and the spark that turns tribute into something alive.”
Many might recall the multi-day Peach At The Beach, which took place in July of 2024, also at the Showboat, throughout the venue’s Island Waterpark, which was also a Live Nation-promoted concert. It featured a bevy of popular jam band-themed groups including Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Dogs In A Pile, Karina Rykman, Trouble No More (Allman Brothers tribute), former Black Uhuru lead singer Mykal Rose and more.
While Peach At The Beach was not as heavily attended as the event promoters had hoped for, it still opened the door for another Atlantic City music venue, especially one that doesn’t possess a casino license. The seeds were planted, so to speak. And with Showboat owner Bart Blatstein planning to open a beach bar at Garden Pier this summer, the north end of the A.C. Boardwalk, where the Ocean Casino is also located, could become a busy area in 2026. Let’s hope so.
Re-Wind 69 Festival, Showboat Hotel, 801 Boardwalk, Atlantic City. Tickets are $162 for three days, or $55 per day.

Betsy’s Blues: Someone who’s no stranger to Tune In Turn On is Betsy Lynn Paisley, who we’ve often referred to as the “Godmother of the Blues” here in South Jersey.
Betsy has resumed her Sound Reflections Concert Series for the 2026 season, which includes a potluck dinner and, as Betsy always makes sure to mention in her promos, “one large dog!”
On Tuesday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m., Betsy welcomes Kansas City-based blues guitarist Kurt Allen, who’s in the midst of his Rockin’ the Blues Across America tour.
“Kurt Allen knows how to play blues rock,” writes Denver Entertainment Hub. “This past Friday night, at Lincoln’s Roadhouse (my absolute favorite neighborhood dive bar in the Denver area), Allen reminded all of us in attendance what real blues rock is all about.”

Gettin’ Outlaw At The ‘Hall: Our friends at Albert Music Hall in Waretown will present a night of Outlaw Country Music this Saturday, June 13.
“From the hard-travelin’ songs of Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, to the Bakersfield sound of Merle Haggard and the road-worn storytelling of Willie Nelson, this special show celebrates the rebellious spirit of classic Country music,” says the press materials on AMH’s website. “Join us for an evening of honky-tonk rhythms, outlaw ballads and timeless country favorites from local musicians keeping the outlaw spirit alive here in the Jersey Pines.”
On another note; it was just announced that the Pinelands Cultural Society’s Albert Hall will be part of the permanent exhibit at the The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music. The center celebrates the history of American music and will include displays and instruments showcasing everything from indigenous music to Johnny Cash and Pete Seeger. That’s quite an honor and well-deserved. Albert Music Hall is one-of-a-kind!
Until next week.
