The Atlantic County Animal Shelter will host two events over the next several days. On Friday, August 9, the shelter will conduct on-the-spot interviews for individuals interested in part-time work as animal assistants. Beginning Saturday, August 10 through Monday, August 12, the shelter will waive all adoption fees to help Clear the Shelter during this annual, national promotional event. Potential pet owners can visit the shelter 1-4 pm any day to see the variety of dogs and cats available for adoption.
Regular adoption fees range from $85 for cats and kittens to $110 for dogs and puppies and include mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Canines adopted from the shelter are also provided free obedience classes.
The shelter is located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville and is open to the public 1-4 pm each day. Appointments are not necessary.
