Buddy’s Adventure Zone Launches “Out of This World Observatory Fundraiser”

Local observatory is one of only two in South Jersey and will feature Buddy’s Stargazer Club

Following the announcement of a FREE STEM Expo, the Police Activities League of Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic County (PAL) is continuing its commitment to bringing diverse educational programs to South Jersey. The youth organization is thrilled to secure local support through an “Out of This World Observatory Fundraiser” on April 29, 2022, 6:00pm-8:00pm to begin the final stages on Buddy’s Adventure Zone and Buddy’s Observatory.  The event will be held at 2542 Ridge Avenue, Egg Harbor Township, NJ.  It will be co-hosted by Robert and Diane Greene of Pioneer Pole Buildings.

Buddy’s Observatory is scheduled “for takeoff” in Summer 2022 and will be unique to South Jersey as it will be open to the public, schools, organizations, and private groups. Viewing events will take place 12 months a year, which is currently not available at other New Jersey observatories. Buddy’s Observatory will be only one of two within a 50-mile radius and be home to Buddy’s Stargazer Club, open to children in 5th-10th grades.

“Our goal is to create a variety of affordable and meaningful activities for children of all ages and backgrounds who live throughout South Jersey. Buddy’s Adventure Zone (opening in June) will host a multitude of sporting events, media club and eSports while our science-based programs will cater to those children that are interested in Astronomy, Robotics, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math,” said Hector Tavarez, Executive Director of the Police Activities League of Egg Harbor Township and Atlantic County. “We are asking our community leaders and potential sponsors to come together to support a very unique program for South Jersey that will enable our children to learn the wonders of astronomy & work with NASA trained educators.”

Bob and Diane were in attendance for the groundbreaking of the Buddy’s Adventure Zone Indoor Athletics Complex when PAL’s Executive Director, Hector Tavarez, announced the addition of an observatory.  “At the groundbreaking, Bob and I were so impressed with all of the programs offered to the kids in the community by PAL we just felt we needed to help to see the observatory become a reality.”

Tickets for The Out of This World Observatory Fundraiser Sip & Support event are $75 per person and can be purchased at Eventbrite.com or through the FB event page. The event will feature hand-picked wines from all over the world, by the expert sommeliers at Passion Vines and Spring Company, food catered by Island Grill, live entertainment by well-known jazz musician and composer Anthony Fuscaldo, Astronomy exhibits & a stage one tour of Buddy’s Observatory. Event hosts and sponsors Robert & Diane Greene of Pioneer Pole Buildings are supporting this endeavor so that both children & adults are aware of the resources that are available at the Police Activities League (PAL) of Egg Harbor Township & Atlantic County.
