The Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority (ACMUA) is implementing a citywide water meter replacement program to modernize its existing meter infrastructure and continue investing in improvements that support reliable, efficient water service for the Atlantic City community.
Through this initiative, ACMUA will replace existing water meters with advanced Kamstrup smart meter technology. This investment is part of the Authority’s continued commitment to maintaining and improving critical infrastructure while utilizing innovative solutions to better serve residents, businesses, and visitors.
Funding for the meter replacement program is supported through New Jersey Infrastructure Bank (IBank) financing and ACMUA’s capital investments, allowing the Authority to reinvest in essential infrastructure improvements that strengthen the water system and support the long-term needs of the community.
The new Kamstrup meters offer advanced technology designed to improve water system monitoring and efficiency. The meters provide enhanced measurement accuracy, remote data collection capabilities, and acoustic listening capabilities to identify potential leaks with the system. These features provide ACMUA with valuable information to help improve system management, reduce water loss, and support proactive maintenance efforts.
The meter replacement program represents another step in ACMUA’s ongoing efforts to invest in infrastructure improvements and provide dependable service through the use of modern technology and responsible system management.
Homeowners are also encouraged to learn about optional protection plans available through Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA). These voluntary plans can help homeowners prepare for unexpected repairs involving water and sewer service lines, as well as certain interior plumbing systems, which are the responsibility of the property owner.
