On Monday, Sept.14, 2026, Trevon Drinks, 32, of Atlantic City, NJ pleaded guilty before the Honorable Donna Taylor, J.S.C. to second-degree possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, and second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons. Under the terms of his guilty plea, Drinks is expected to be sentenced to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison with a five-year period of parole ineligibility.
On June 20, 2025, members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to 305 N. North Carolina Avenue in reference to a male experiencing a mental health crisis and threatening to shoot his mother with a gun. The male was identified as Trevon Drinks. Police also learned that Drinks threatened to harm his sister. The sister provided information that she had observed her brother with a gun in the past. An emergent search warrant for this residence was approved. Law enforcement recovered over 21 grams of methamphetamine, over 28 grams of cocaine, over 29 grams of fentanyl, as well as a loaded 9 mm Sig Sauer P320 handgun containing 10 rounds of ammunition and a high-capacity magazine. Drinks has prior convictions for possession with the intent to distribute CDS making him a person not allowed to possess firearms.
Drinks will continue to be held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending sentencing. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 27, 2026.
Members of the Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit are prosecuting the matter.
