On Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, Tajah Campbell, 42, of Atlantic City, NJ pleaded guilty in front of the Honorable Pamela D’Arcy, P.J.Cr., to third-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS, third-degree possession of CDS, and second-degree certain persons not to possess a weapon. The plea calls for a recommended aggregate sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison without the possibility of parole.
On Sept. 17, 2024, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department were conducting surveillance when they observed Campbell engage in multiple suspected hand-to-hand CDS transactions. Based on these observations, Campbell was apprehended, searched, and found to be in possession of 41 wax folds containing fentanyl, as well as other CDS paraphernalia.
On Dec. 2, 2024, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop. During the stop, Campbell, the driver of the motor vehicle, was found to have an active warrant. Campbell was arrested and found to be in possession of cocaine.
On Dec. 23, 2024, officers of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to a report of two individuals passed out in a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Campbell, was treated by EMTs on scene. While being assessed, officers observed the handle of a handgun protruding from a fanny pack on Campbell’s person. Campbell is a certain person not to possess weapons due to prior convictions. He was arrested and charged accordingly.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 22, 2026. A request to be released pending sentencing was denied.
