Just two days before the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Resorts Casino Hotel presents Bourbon & Valor – Light Bites, Tastings, and Stories of Valor – in their Horizon Ballroom on Sept. 9 at 6 p.m.

All attendees will enjoy light bites, 4 bourbon tastings from the Horse Solider collection, and a signed bottle of Horse Solider Bourbon Whiskey to take home. Tickets are $90 per person and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.

U.S. Army Special Forces Commander and Horse Soldier Bourbon co-founder Bob Pennington will be on hand to share his company’s special brand of award-winning bourbon; but more importantly, his incredible experience as Assistant Detachment Commander for Operational Detachment Alpha-595 during their historic post-9/11 campaign, conducting textbook Unconventional Warfare operations while on horseback against a formidable Taliban and Al Qaeda Force.

It’s this same team spirit that is now producing Horse Soldier – one of the most reputable bourbon brands on the market. Bob and his former military teammates operate the veteran-owned craft distillery brand, American Freedom Distillery, featuring their premium award-winning, Horse Soldier Bourbon.  After having given of themselves over the span of their military careers to the service of our country, they continue with the same fierce dedication in creating the best possible bourbon they can.

“We are honored to welcome Bob to Resorts during the week 9/11, so that we all may remember the bravery and sacrifice that went into the post-9/11 campaign against enemies who brought war to our soil. We are so fortunate that Bob and his team brought their story home, so that we never forget,” said Resorts Casino Hotel President and CEO Mark Giannantonio.

Bob is the recipient of many combat and peacetime awards, including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with Valor Device and two oak leaf clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, and Meritorious Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters. He is a 2020 inductee as a Distinguished Member of the Special Forces Regiment, as well as a 2020 inductee into the Georgia Military Veteran’s Hall of Fame. He is a recipient of the 2018 MG Shachnow Award (Special recognition for combat actions), and the 2014 Bronze Order of Saint Philip Neri (20+ years of outstanding achievement in Special Forces), along with several other awards and recognition.
