Join the Absecon 9/11 Memorial Founders Committee as they honor the 25th anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony will be held behind City Hall. Please bring a lawn chair.

Atlantic City

Jackson Avenue and the Boardwalk

The Saracini-O’Neil 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will include the Sandpipers Pipes & Drums of Atlantic County providing music and patriotic songs, a 40-ton patriotic themed sand sculpture by world renowned artist John Gowdy, Last Salute’s three round Civil War Cannon volley, and a memorial flag presentation. This year’s program will be led by Master of Ceremonies Michael Fedorko, Director of Atlantic County Public Safety. Street parking is available on Atlantic Avenue and adjacent cross streets.

Longport

  • 9 a.m.

Thomas B. Reed Park, 28th & Ventnor Avenue

Members of the public are invited to join American Legion Post 469 at Reed Park, near the Longport bridge, for a brief but meaningful ceremony remember those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

Margate

  • 9 a.m.

Margate City Fire Department Station 1, 1 S. Washington Avenue

The public is invited to a memorial service to honor those who lost their lives in New York City, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pa. on 9/11. The ceremony will include prayer by local clergy, music tributes, and comments by local dignitaries.

Ocean City

  • 6 p.m.

Ocean City Fire Department, Sixth and Asbury Avenue

“A Day to Remember” will include music, prayer, and reflections on the memory of lives lost and on the community spirit that was renewed in the wake of September 11, 2001. All are encouraged to attend. For more information, visit www.oceancityvacation.com.
