Community members gathered at the Absecon Lighthouse in Atlantic City for a Wine Tasting Porch Party celebrating National Lighthouse Day.
The summer evening brought guests together on the lighthouse grounds for wine, music and light fare in a relaxed setting. The event offered participants an opportunity to recognize the history and significance of the Absecon Lighthouse while enjoying one of Atlantic City’s best-known landmarks.
The lighthouse, located in the city’s North Beach section, has long served as a reminder of the area’s maritime history.
National Lighthouse Day is observed annually on Aug. 7 to recognize the role lighthouses have played in guiding ships and protecting mariners along the nation’s coastlines.
The porch party combined local history, food and entertainment, giving guests a chance to celebrate the occasion during a warm summer evening at the Shore.
