The Atlantic City community came out in force to roll up their sleeves and give blood in honor of Sergeant Christian Ivanov, who suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot in the line of duty in June. Ivanov and his wife, Bryanna, were present to see dozens of community members, colleagues, and supporters arrive throughout the day to donate in his honor.
The special blood drive, held today at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s Atlantic City campus, brought a steady stream of donors all day. They gave in recognition of the care Sgt. Ivanov received and in support of future patients who may face similar emergencies.
Donated blood from this event will help trauma patients, individuals undergoing surgery or cancer treatment, and others whose lives may depend on a ready supply of blood. Today’s turnout reflects the deep respect for Sgt. Ivanov’s service and the community’s commitment to standing with law enforcement and local families in times of crisis.
Sgt. Ivanov was joined by the AtlantiCare medical team that helped save his life, as well as many colleagues from ACPD and the Atlantic City Public Safety community at large.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all who participated and encouraged those who could not attend today to consider making an appointment at an upcoming blood drive to keep this momentum going and help ensure blood is available whenever it is needed most.
