Participants in BERON JOAS (Jewish Older Adult Services) recently gathered to paint dozens of vibrant rocks that will become permanent features throughout the Alzheimer’s Sensory Trail & Healing Garden at Seashore Gardens Living Center. Each hand-painted creation will add color, inspiration, and a personal touch to the outdoor space, where residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, along with their families and caregivers, can relax, reflect, and connect with nature.
The project is part of Mosaic’s Brushes & Blooms program, which combines art and horticultural therapy to promote creativity, social engagement, and emotional well-being among older adults.
The revitalization of the Alzheimer’s Sensory Trail & Healing Garden is made possible by the Headley Family Charitable Fund. Brushes & Blooms is funded by private donations matched up to $4,000 through the generosity of HUB International, together with Gershon Ginsburg, and the Wawa Foundation.
