Low-income Atlantic County residents 60 years and older may receive a $40 credit to purchase fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs at participating local farmers markets at one remaining in-person event.
The Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services is providing the credits to interested residents who meet the age and income eligibility guidelines established by the state: annual gross income that does not exceed $2,461 per month or $29,526 per year for a single person and $3,337 per month or $40,034 annually for a couple.
The final distribution event will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Shoreview Building, 101 S. Shore Road, Northfield.
The event will include Pinelands Farms and representatives from community resources such as the Community Food Bank and Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County.
Beginning Monday, June 29, eligible residents who have not yet received their vouchers may apply by phone at 1-888-426-9243. Phone applications will not be accepted prior to this date.
Applicants must provide identification, proof of income and proof of residency. Those who meet the requirements will receive a QR code with a $40 balance that can be used all at once or in multiple trips to participating farmers markets. QR codes are non-transferable and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
Vouchers will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
