Atlantic City is home to hundreds of dining and entertainment establishments. From fine dining restaurants and vibrant nightlife to neighborhood pubs and longtime local favorites, there is always something new to experience in the city.

Whether you’re looking for a quick happy hour spot, a five-course meal, a local bar filled with familiar faces, or a venue to spend an entire afternoon, Atlantic City offers something for every occasion.

One local establishment that delivers an atmosphere suited for all of those occasions is The Palm. Located in Tropicana’s Quarter, The Palm first opened its Atlantic City location in 2005 and has remained a staple ever since.

With several locations throughout the country, Steve Salmon, Regional Vice President of The Palm Restaurant Group, shared why Atlantic City was a natural fit for the brand.

“While Atlantic City already had steakhouses and casino restaurants, The Palm brought a different vibe that resonated with both visitors and locals. The Palm stood apart because it delivered more than just a traditional steakhouse experience,” Salmon said. “Guests could enjoy USDA Prime steaks alongside standout Italian specialties, oversized Nova Scotia lobsters and iconic martinis, all within a welcoming atmosphere that felt more like visiting a friend’s home than dining in a casino.”

Rather than catering primarily to casino players, The Palm was intentionally designed to serve both visitors and the local community. The goal was to become not only Atlantic City’s premier steakhouse, but also the strongest-performing Palm location in the country, a feat Salmon said the restaurant achieved within its first year.

While much has changed since opening in 2005, The Palm has continued to evolve while staying true to its identity. Salmon noted that the company dropped its jacket-and-tie dress code in 1963 to appeal to a younger audience, and over the years expanded its menu from Italian fare into the steakhouse experience it is today. Through those changes, the restaurant has remained grounded in its core values of treating guests like family, delivering exceptional food and service, and honoring its signature caricature-covered walls.

The restaurant’s famous caricature walls pay tribute to iconic Atlantic City figures and landmarks, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Skinny D’Amato and Lucy the Elephant. For visitors, the artwork offers a visual journey through the city’s history, while locals often find themselves reminiscing about the personalities and places that helped shape Atlantic City.

In addition to the walls and the welcoming staff who keep guests engaged, The Palm is known for far more than its steaks. Diners frequently rave about the Jumbo Nova Scotia Lobsters, Chicken Parmigiana and Linguini. Salmon also encourages guests to ask about special accommodations and off-menu requests, many of which the restaurant is happy to fulfill whenever possible.

Beyond its daily dining service and popular happy hours, The Palm hosts a wide variety of celebrations and private events, including weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, anniversaries, birthdays and corporate gatherings. Its private dining spaces can be combined to accommodate up to 100 seated guests or divided into smaller configurations to host multiple events simultaneously.
