Last Sunday, the Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey hosted its annual Charity Scholarship Ball. This year’s event was held at Renault Winery where hundreds of attendees were treated to an evening of elegant food, dancing, a silent auction and raffle drawing. All proceeds support culinary students, chefs in need, and ongoing educational programs.

Several local chefs were honored for their commitment to the community. Chef Lawrence Alexander was awarded Chef of the Year for his extraordinary dedication to the culinary field, while Christina Martin was honored as Chef Educator of the Year. Other honorees included Chef Vincenzo Nelli and Beverly DiMeglio, who both received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Professional Chefs Association of South Jersey was founded in 1972 by fifteen local chefs with the goal of training and educating local chefs, and lead humanitarian efforts in our community. They are a chapter of the American Culinary Federation and have over 100 active members consisting of professionals, culinarians, and students, alongside junior and associated individuals. “Our chapter is a place for the culinary community to come together and accomplish remarkable things,” says Chef David Goldstein, President of the PCASJ. “I am proud of everything this chapter has done this past year and look forward to our future.”
