An unusual music and storytelling experience is coming to Ludlam Brewery on Sunday, April 26, as Grendel’s Lair transforms the space into a dark, immersive rock environment for an afternoon listening event.

Created by Upper Township resident Suzé DiPietro and collaborator Frank Gorgo of Newfield, Grendel’s Lair is a 22-song concept album set inside a fictional nightclub, where the story unfolds entirely through the music. Blending hard rock with character-driven storytelling, the project introduces audiences to a world of shifting power, tension, and intrigue.

The April 26 listening party brings that world into a live setting. Guests will enter through a staged club-style experience and step into a space featuring cinematic character visuals projected throughout the brewery, along with a curated sequence of music from the album. A live Q&A with the creators will offer insight into the project’s development and creative approach.

“It’s not just something you listen to—you step into it,” DiPietro said.

Admission is free, with a cash bar. Guests will be able to access the music on-site via streaming platforms, and attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good to support the Ocean City Food Pantry.
