As energy and excitement builds leading up to Easter, Fusion Church brought another emotion into the season – love.
Fusion’s three church locations came together recently with nearly 100 volunteers for its annual “Easter Love Week,” a community outreach initiative focused on uplifting first responders, local medical staff, teenage and single-parents and their families, and those in addiction recovery.
Through a series of 15 outreach efforts across seven days, Fusion Church celebrated more than 5,900 lives impacted through acts of generosity, service, and compassion. Initiatives included over 530 Easter baskets of candy, snacks, and hand-written notes of encouragement delivered to 21 local medical and emergency response agencies across South Jersey, and 800 Easter candy bags distributed through eight local homelessness and addiction recovery support organizations. Fusion Youth’s middle and high school-aged students also partnered with Angels in Motion to pack 650 blessing bags to support those suffering from addiction and homelessness.
“It was incredible to see so many people come together with one purpose—to love our community. Moments like this remind us how powerful simple acts of kindness can be when we show up with willing hearts,” said Cindy Fox, Fusion Church Outreach Coordinator.
Not only did their outreach volunteer teams put their hands and hearts into action, but Fusion’s Connect Groups discipleship ministry joined in the love by creating 114 personal Easter baskets of personal, baby, and maternal care items to be distributed across eight local pregnancy and family centers across Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties.
“We believe that being a true follower of Jesus isn’t just learning about His love for us on a page – it’s about putting that love into action through our own hands,” said Heather Knoll, Connect Groups and Outreach Director at Fusion Church.
Fusion Church continues to invite community members to get involved through volunteering, discipleship, and local outreach throughout the Easter season and beyond.
