KIDS – this is a year to become a “Woodjin.” It is piney talk for a “guide” who has outdoor skills, a respect of nature and a deep appreciation of the NJ Pine Barrens and its history. We can hardly wait for you to meet, Mij, Sammy and Emmy as they attend their first class along with other creatures from the woods. All of this is captured in a commissioned original watercolor “Gathering at the Mullica River” by local artist, Kathy English as she depicted the ideas, thoughts and images provided by Linda Stanton, Founder of It’s a Sign of the Pines. Posters, Giclee prints and patches will be available.
Fun activities are in session for KIDS. Get a safety vest and visit different sites to learn about safety, participate in crafts and earn a patch or become part of the PB&J program and get a pamphlet to complete that includes a scavenger hunt and earn a t-shirt. We are so pleased to have the Ocean County Cultural & Heritage Commission with their American Revolutionary War truck and the Funny Farm Rescue Sanctuary also joins us.
