The Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) hosted its Annual Women Fighting Hunger Luncheon with two events: Wednesday, October 29 at Seaview Golf Resort in Galloway and Thursday, October 30 at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany to support CFBNJ’s efforts to nourish New Jersey neighbors in need. For the fourth time, the event was held in both North Jersey and South Jersey to generate funds and awareness across the state.
From the awareness raised through the SNAP Challenge leading up to the event, to the meaningful keynote and the calls to action, this year’s Luncheon was a reminder of how vital our work in addressing food insecurity truly is. In total approximately 600 people attended, which raised $400,000.After participating in a volunteer activity and social hour, guests enjoyed lunch and a program featuring Matthew Bounds, Author of the New York Times Bestseller Keep It Simple Y’all in South Jersey and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America, in North Jersey.

“Events like Women Fighting Hunger Luncheon allow us to take direct action toward our goal: ensuring every family across New Jersey has access to nutritious food,” said Elizabeth McCarthy, President & CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “When we provide families with the resources to share a meal together, we’re supporting not just their nutrition, but their connection and stability.”
“Home-cooked meals don’t need to be complicated or time-consuming to bring families together,” said Matthew Bounds, author of the New York Times bestseller Keep It Simple Y’all. “With easy ingredients and straightforward recipes, anyone can create nourishing dinners that feed both body and soul.”
“At a time when many families face uncertainty around critical nutrition programs, the work of food banks has never been more essential,” said Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. “The Women Fighting Hunger Luncheon demonstrates the power of community coming together to help ensure that no neighbor goes without the nourishment they need.”
