The New Jersey Restaurant & Hospitality Association (NJRHA) has officially announced Executive Chef Jason Hanin as a finalist for its prestigious 2025 Chef of the Year Award. A celebrated figure in the culinary world, Chef Hanin leads the kitchen at The Ebbitt Room, located within The Virginia Hotel in Cape May, where his innovative and globally inspired cuisine continues to set a high bar for excellence.
A graduate of the renowned Culinary Institute of America, Chef Hanin has built a remarkable career rooted in curiosity, craft, and cultural immersion. At The Ebbitt Room, he practices a rigorous farm-to-table and farm-to-glass ethos, sourcing hyper-seasonal ingredients from Cape May’s Beach Plum Farm. His dishes reflect a deep respect for both nature and craftsmanship, delivering refined flavors that resonate with intention and soul.
A chef, student, and storyteller through food, Chef Hanin’s nomination is a tribute to his culinary excellence and his commitment to elevating the industry both in New Jersey and beyond.
The NJRHA Awards Ceremony is a celebration of the individuals and establishments that shape New Jersey’s vibrant hospitality industry. This year’s event, held on Wednesday, November 5, from 5pm to 8pm at The Ryland Inn, will feature an open bar, gourmet food, silent auctions, and more.
Public voting for the 2025 NJRHA Chef of the Year opens Wednesday, October 1, and will remain live through Monday, October 14.
