According to initial results, Somers Point voters have approved the district’s tax neutral $5.6 million bond referendum.

As of Tuesday night, unofficial results show 2,758 votes in favor and 1,027 opposed. Final vote totals will be updated as mail-in and provisional ballots are processed and certified by election officials.

“We are grateful to the Somers Point community for their support of our schools,” said Ted Pugliese, Superintendent, Somers Point School District. “Making these improvements to our buildings ensures that we will be able to continue proudly serving the children of this community for many more years to come.”

The Board of Education extends its sincere thanks to residents who took the time to learn about the proposal, share information, and participate in the voting process. Updates on project timelines and next steps will be shared with the community as they become available. Additional information about the referendum and vote tally is available at www.sptsd.org/vote.
