Legendary singer Tom Jones performed before a sold-out crowd at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa’s Event Center in Atlantic City on Friday, Sept. 25.

At 86, the Welsh entertainer continues to command the stage with the powerful voice and charismatic presence that have defined his career for more than six decades. The Atlantic City audience welcomed Jones with enthusiasm as he revisited songs that helped make him one of the most recognizable performers in popular music.

Born Thomas Jones Woodward in Pontypridd, Wales, Jones rose to international fame during the 1960s. His breakthrough single, “It’s Not Unusual,” became a worldwide hit and established him as a dynamic vocalist with a style that blended pop, soul, rock and rhythm and blues.

Jones followed that early success with a long list of memorable recordings, including “Delilah,” “What’s New Pussycat?,” “She’s a Lady,” “Green, Green Grass of Home” and “Help Yourself.” His music has remained familiar to generations of listeners, while his energetic performances and distinctive baritone have made him an enduring concert attraction.

Over the course of his career, Jones has sold more than 100 million records and received numerous honors, including a Grammy Award. Queen Elizabeth II knighted him in 2006 for his contributions to music.

Rather than relying solely on nostalgia, Jones has continued recording and exploring new musical styles throughout his later career. His more recent work has included interpretations of blues, gospel, folk and roots music, introducing another side of the artist to longtime fans.

Friday’s sold-out appearance at Borgata demonstrated that Jones’ appeal remains strong. With a catalog spanning generations and a stage presence refined over thousands of performances, the veteran singer delivered an evening that celebrated both his musical legacy and his staying power.
