Good Fall to perform

Tune In, Turn On

Thanks For Giving Fest: There’s only one thing that Tune In Turn On likes better than original live music and that’s a pet adoption event along with live music, which takes place this Sunday, Nov. 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Anchor Rock Club in Atlantic City.

We’ll let TFGF promoter Emma Kristine describe it in her own words.

“I’m really excited to be able to combine my love for music and animals into one event,” says Kristine. “Thanks for Giving Fest is an all-day event with vendors, raffles and live music featuring New Jersey area bands. There’s an adoption event from 2 to 5 p.m. with adoptable dogs, cats and small animals while DJ Munsy plays Lofi Beats.

“Other acts include Mother Yilk, a solo artist from Pleasantville; Old Friends, an alternative rock band from Collingswood; Good Fall, a progressive rock band from Bordentown; In-DreamView is an instrumental progressive rock band from Northern New Jersey; Friend Hospital is South Jersey, alternative rock.”

Tickets are $15 online or at the door. One hundred percent of the money raised gets donated between three rescue organizations: Atlantic Critters Rescue, Kizzy’s Place and Tails Up Paws Down Rescue. Must be 18 and over. Address is 247 S. New York Ave., Atlantic City.

Kelsey Coan Band at Firewaters Saloon: This teen singer brings her band to Firewaters Saloon at the Tropicana Casino Hotel this Friday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. (free).

“The band and I are very excited to be performing live at the Firewaters Saloon inside the Tropicana Casino this Friday night,” Coan told us. “Sing and dance along with us as we play your favorite rock and country songs and some of my originals, too. We are looking forward to many more performances down the Shore,” adds Coan, whose colorful background includes once being on the cover of Philadelphia Talent Magazine and a performance at the CMA Festival among others. She also penned a song for our veterans, “Something to Stand For,” and has addressed the issue of being bullied in school (Kelsey was), with original songs “Don’t Give Up,” “I Heart Me,” and “Look At Me Now,” all tackling bullying, being abused and those with special needs. www.kelseycoanmusic.com.

Tropicana Casino is at 2831 Boardwalk, Atlantic City; www.firewaterssaloon.com.

Albert Castiglia/Lizzie Rose Music Room: One of the true blues-rock guitar gunslingers whom I actually had the pleasure of working with when I was publicist for Gulf Coast Records a few years back, Castiglia has recently been touring as part of a high-energy guitar duo with fellow GCR artist (and label President) Mike Zito called The Blood Brothers. They have a new album, “Blood Brothers: Live In Canada,” due out this Friday on the label. Castiglia is a past Blues Music Award winner. This show is sold out. www.lizzierosemusic.com.

Old Lady, Ma’am, Phil Spector’s Gun: Cool triple-bill of indie rock at the Anchor Rock Club. Old Lady hail from New Jersey. Ma’am is from Central Pennsylvania and are touring behind their debut EP, “Rules To Ramblin’.” Spliff Mountain DJs will be spinnin’ tunes all night long. The show is Friday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. Admission is $15. Address is 247 S. New York Ave.

That’s all for this week. Get out there and support live music! Coming soon: My interview with guitarist Bryan Bassett of legendary classic rock group, Foghat, who performs with Grand Funk Railroad at Hard Rock Casino in AC on Dec. 9.
