Teens and seniors connect over trivia at Better Together program kickoff

On Sunday, Sept. 29, seniors from Seashore Gardens Living Center (SGLC) joined their teen buddies from the Kulanu School of Jewish Studies for a lively afternoon of trivia, marking the kickoff of the Better Together program for the 2024-25 school year.

Better Together, a longstanding initiative of the Board of Jewish Education of Atlantic & Cape May Counties, aims to foster intergenerational connections by bringing Jewish teens and SGLC residents together. Through engaging activities centered around Jewish values, participants share experiences, wisdom, and laughter, enriching their lives in meaningful ways.

“The trivia kickoff was a great success, bringing together different generations to celebrate our shared heritage,” said Cindy Weinraub, Assistant Director of Recreation, Seashore Gardens Living Center. “It’s heartwarming to witness the bonds forming between our teens and seniors, reminding us all of the importance of community and connection.”

The Better Together program hosts monthly events throughout the school year at SGLC, creating opportunities for Jewish teens and seniors to engage in various activities that promote understanding and friendship across generations.

Students and seniors shared special moments during their afternoon together.
