SustainableEHC, the city’s green team, is holding its third annual Arbor Day Photo Contest for students and adults. Ribbons and monetary prizes will be awarded at the Arbor Day Celebration being held 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 17 at Peace Pilgrim Park. This year’s contest theme is “The Wonder of Trees.”
The Arbor Day Celebration includes the photo contest, tree planting demonstration, free backyard tree giveaway, scavenger hunt, vendors and giveaways. Hot dogs and ice cream available for purchase.
Students in the city schools and adults can submit one photograph with tree(s) as the main subject, along with the photographer’s name, title of the photograph, age, school and phone number. Photos must be original work; no AI generated photos permitted. Photos will be judged anonymously by award-winning professional and semi-pro photographers.
Ribbons and cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25 will be awarded for first, second and third place winners. Send submissions by the deadline Friday April 10 by clicking the Photo Contest submission link on the SustainableEHC.org website. Public voting for Best in Show rosette will be held during the Arbor Day Celebration.
Photos will be displayed in a gallery on the SustainableEHC website and may be used for promotional materials with credit given to the photographer.
