The Good Old Days Festival, one of Somers Point’s most beloved traditions, returns to JFK Park on Saturday, Sept. 6, for a full day of live music, food, entertainment and community celebration.
Organized by the Good Old Days Festival Committee in partnership with the Somers Point Historical Society, the event draws thousands of residents and visitors each year to celebrate the city’s heritage and community spirit.
This year’s festival features performances by local favorites The Turtle Heads, The Notion and Plaid Salmon, promising a high-energy soundtrack to the day’s festivities.

In addition to live music, festival highlights include:
- Antique car displays
- Children’s entertainment with carnival games, inflatables, face painting, a magician and a ventriloquist
- More than 25 vendors and community groups offering crafts, food and activities
- $1 hot dogs and hamburgers prepared by volunteers
- A Beer Garden with a wide selection of beverages
“The Good Old Days Festival brings our community together in a way that few events can,” said Sean T. McGuigan, festival committee member. “It’s about celebrating our history, supporting our local organizations, and making lasting memories with family and friends.”
The festival remains free to the public thanks to generous sponsors. Proceeds benefit the Historical Society’s preservation projects, student scholarships and educational programs.

Also returning is the 5K Run to Remember, honoring first responders lost on 9/11. Sponsored by Shore Ace Hardware and Passion Vines, the race winds through Somers Point’s scenic golf course neighborhood. Runners and walkers of all ages are encouraged to participate while carrying or wearing items honoring first responders and military members.
