The Somers Point Planning Board is excited to announce the kick-off of a comprehensive Master Plan Reexamination process. This initiative aims to gather extensive community feedback on potential revisions to the City’s Master Plan, which serves as the foundational guide for the city’s zoning and land use policies.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 7:00 PM at Somers Point City Hall, 1 W. New Jersey Ave, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
“This is a unique opportunity for the community to help shape the future of Somers Point,” added Somers Point Mayor Dennis Tapp. “We look forward to hearing from our residents and working together to create a vibrant and sustainable city. The input we receive during this engagement process will be invaluable in addressing the challenges and opportunities ahead. Our goal is to foster a sense of ownership and pride in our collective efforts to enhance the quality of life for everyone in Somers Point.”
Public participation is encouraged as the Planning Board invites all community members to participate in this ongoing dialogue. The engagement process includes public meetings and workshops. Members of the Somers Point Zoning Board and City Council are expected to be in attendance, highlighting the importance of this collaborative effort.
The Master Plan provides critical guidance on the location, type, and scale of development within the city. A key component of this reexamination is to engage with the public to ensure that the plan reflects a diverse range of perspectives and ideas, shaping the city’s vision for the next decade and beyond.
