Shore Medical Center announced that Health Unit Coordinator Veronica Mancuso of Chatsworth, NJ, has been named its August Guardian Angel of the Month for providing passionate and exceptional patient care. Shore established the Guardian Angel program to enable community members to say ‘thank you’ to a special Shore caregiver through a donation to the medical center in their honor.
Mancuso has been with Shore Medical Center for 26 years, and joined the 5 Stainton unit seven years ago.
“Veronica is an exceptional team member whose dedication and work ethic set the standard for excellence,” says Erion Carcani, BSN, RN, Clinical Nurse Manager of the 5 Stainton unit. “She consistently goes the extra mile to support her peers and ensure smooth operations. Her knowledge, reliability and tireless commitment make her the engine that drives the department forward. She’s an outstanding employee and an invaluable asset to our team!”
A patient’s spouse recently made a Guardian Angel donation to the medical center in Mancuso’s honor and had this to say about her:
“I want to thank Veronica, the Health Unit Coordinator on 5 Stainton, for her incredible kindness and support while my wife was a patient. She went out of her way to make sure I had all the necessary information, as I was overwhelmed. Veronica is a true gem and I want her to know that she made a huge difference in the support and compassion she has shown my family. Thank you!”
Shore Medical Center’s Guardian Angel program provides an opportunity for patients and families to recognize anyone at Shore who makes a difference in their care or experience. Guardian Angels are recognized among their peers and presented with a Guardian Angel pin at Shore’s annual pinning ceremony.
