Racing To Feed the hungry this Thanksgiving

Celebrity Chef Andre Murphy, founder of Healing For The Soul, has kickstarted Racing To Feed, a campaign aimed at swiftly delivering meals to those in need over the Thanksgiving holiday.

This Thanksgiving week, Chef Murphy and his team plan to provide sustenance for over 1,000 individuals facing food insecurity.

Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Village at St. Peter’s Senior Housing in Pleasantville, where they aim to serve about 100 seniors a pre-Thanksgiving meal.

On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23, the team will be Racing To Feed 200 residents at The Community Center in Stanley Homes Village in Atlantic City, offering a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings from noon to 3 p.m.

Nov. 26, by Racing To Feed over 300 residents at the Teacher’s Union Hall (Atlantic County Education Association) in Egg Harbor City.

Healing For The Soul, a nonprofit organization, has made a significant impact, having served over 21,000 people in need since the onset of COVID. A substantial portion of their clients, 13,000 individuals, are seniors, with an additional 3,000 first responders also benefiting.

Chef Murphy, founder of Healing For The Soul in Atlantic City, and owner of Murphy’s Chicken N Potatoes, created Racing To Feed to focus on struggling areas dealing with food insecurity. He also introduced a new food distribution center in Pleasantville that can create ongoing feeding opportunities.
