On Friday, Oct. 2, at approximately 7:24 p.m., the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to the area of the Black Horse Pike and Bayport Drive for a motor vehicle crash.
Paula Rodas-Quintero, 26 from Pleasantville, was operating a 2021 Dodge Durango traveling westbound on the Black Horse Pike when a pedestrian failed to cross the Black Horse Pike safely and was struck by the Dodge Durango in the westbound lanes.
The pedestrian was identified as Aimee Altin, a 73-year-old female, who suffered significant trauma and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver Ms. Rodas-Quintero contacted 911 immediately and cooperated with the investigation into the crash.
Assisting at the crash scene was the Egg Harbor Township EMS, NJ Department of Transportation, and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The crash is being investigated by Sergeant Edward Stearns, Officer Thomas Rizzotte, and Officer Cody Ng of the EHT Police Traffic Safety Unit. Traffic was detoured in the area for approximately 4 hours while the scene was being investigated and cleared.
