Dog lovers, local businesses and animal advocates will gather on the bayfront this weekend as the second annual Paws & Pours fundraiser returns to The Anchorage Tavern.
The event, benefiting Beacon Animal Rescue, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 14, at The Anchorage Tavern, 823 Bay Ave. Organizers describe the event as a “Bayfest for Dogs,” combining pet-friendly activities, community engagement and fundraising efforts to support homeless animals.
Presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and The Anchorage Tavern, the event will feature adoptable dogs, local vendors, entertainment, games and activities for pets and their owners.
More than 20 local businesses and dog-related vendors are expected to participate. Guests will have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs from Beacon Animal Rescue and learn more about the organization’s efforts to place animals in permanent homes.
One of the day’s featured attractions will be the Doggie Fashion Show, where canine contestants will take to a red carpet-style runway. Participating dogs will receive complimentary pup cups, and attendees can enjoy music throughout the event provided by DJ Crazy Trane.
Additional activities will include a Tito’s-themed photo booth, games, giveaways and opportunities to win dog-related prizes.
Beacon Animal Rescue representatives said the event provides a fun way for the community to support animal welfare while increasing awareness about pet adoption.
Last year’s inaugural event raised more than $2,700 for Beacon Animal Rescue. Organizers said they hope to exceed that total this year through sponsorships, donations and participation.
Guests can also support the fundraiser through the “Drink for a Pup Crush Cause” campaign, which has been running since May 1. Through the promotion, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will donate $1 for every Pup Crush cocktail sold at The Anchorage Tavern through June 14, up to $2,500.
The event is open to the public and welcomes families, pet owners and animal lovers alike.
Beacon Animal Rescue, based in Ocean View, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned and homeless animals throughout the region.
Paws & Pours continues to grow as both a community event and a fundraiser, helping connect adoptable pets with potential owners while raising critical support for animal rescue efforts.
