Announcing the 2026 Ocean City Music Pier Children’s Theatre Series:

July 7 – WINNIE THE POOH: The Musical – Join Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and friends in this charming musical adaptation of A.A. Milne’s classic stories. Winnie-the-Pooh spends his days searching for honey, doing his exercises, and playing with his best friends. Adventures ensue as a new animal — a kangaroo — moves to the forest!

July 14 – HOW I BECAME A PIRATE – Sail off on a fantastic musical excursion when a band of comical pirates lands at North Beach looking for an expert digger to join their crew. Braid Beard and his mates enlist young Jeremy Jacob as they look for the perfect spot to bury their treasure. Jeremy learns that adventuring can be lots of fun, but love and home are treasures you can’t find on any map! The whole family will love this delightful and swashbuckling musical adventure.

July 21 – THE BERENSTAIN BEARS: The Musical – The “world’s foremost expert on the Berenstain Bears,” guitar-strumming Cowboy Joe, is the show’s stage director—introducing and commenting on a musical that brings to life the classic Berenstain Bears books in an entertaining way. The performance will weave together stories from “The Berenstain Bears’ New Baby,” “The Berenstain Bears and the Messy Room,” “The Berenstain Bears and the Double Dare,” “The Berenstain Bears Tell the Truth,” and “The Berenstain Bears Get Stage Fright,” allowing the beloved tales to leap from the page to the stage.

July 28 – JUNIE B JONES: The Musical – It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade, and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend, Lucille, doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore and, on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher, Mr. Scary, thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting. Featuring a tremendously loveable character and fun-filled songs, Junie B. Jones will capture hearts just as the books captivated an entire generation of students.

August 4 – SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE!  (TYA) – A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage in Schoolhouse Rock Live! The Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math and more through clever, tuneful songs is making a small-screen comeback. Schoolhouse Rock Live! follows Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV, when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such songs as “Just a Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly” and “Conjunction Junction.”

The Ocean City Theatre Company is proud to announce that funding has been made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts / Department of State, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Cape May County Board of County Commissioners through the Cape May County Division of Culture & Heritage. OCTC also extends its gratitude to the City of Ocean City for their support of live, family-friendly entertainment and welcoming the 2026 Children’s Series lineup back to the Ocean City Music Pier.
